Turkey, Qatar Hold High-Level Phone Call on Regional Developments
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation on Monday with Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which they discussed recent regional developments, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
The two officials reportedly assessed the latest situation surrounding ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, as diplomatic efforts continue in the region.
The discussion took place at a time of heightened tensions, as the United Arab Emirates reported a fourth wave of missiles and drones launched from Iran on the same evening. It marked the first such incident since a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington came into effect last month.
In a series of statements, the UAE Defense Ministry said its air defense systems were actively intercepting incoming ballistic and cruise missiles, along with unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Emirati territory.
The ministry also explained that loud sounds heard in various parts of the country were the result of defensive operations responding to the incoming projectiles.
No immediate reports of casualties or material damage were confirmed at the time of reporting.
